New Plan for 2018

HI EVERYONE.

Just to let everyone know that I have decided to deferre my place in this years London marathon as if I do it now I’m guaranteed a place in next years London marathon.
My reason for this decision is that since mid January I have been in suffering from groin/pelvic pain when I do any serious distances and was advised to ease up on road and distance running by my GP .
I have had X-Ray’s and blood tests and have been on strong painkillers for a few weeks and was intending to do the BATH HALF and see how I felt .
But with Mother Nature putting pay to this years bath half I have decided to aim to do Bath and London next year.
Therefore taking my GPs advice and ease up and get in top shape to give me the BEST chance of reaching EVEREST BASE CAMP in November.

Bath Half Cancelled

Bath Half Marathon

The Bath Half Marathon was cancelled due to the bad weather.

l am totally gutted as l feel l need to complete my promise to Carol, also for the support and donations l received to help CROHNS UK.
l did make the journey to Bath and now l’m here l can see why it was canceled, it is hard enough to walk let alone run a marathon.

My First Challenge is almost here.

My number and details of the Bath Half Marathon has arrived today
so l’m all ready for the big day 4th March so please keep donating every little bit helps.
As you know l’m doing this for a dear friend of mine that suffered since a young age with Crohn’s Disease and was taken to early at only 40 years old.

Bath Half Marathon-Carol Blackman

Bath Half Marathon my first charity run of 2018 is going to be in memory of a very dear friend
Carol Blackman who passed away in March aged only 40 .

Carols had suffered from severe Crohn’s disease since she was 14 .
A few weeks before Carol passed away I was sat with her chatting when I asked if there was a run in the uk and charity I could raise money for what would they be .

Carol said the charity would have to be CROHNS & COLITIS UK and the fact that Carols favourite place in the uk was Bath and had visited many times with her husband Jason.

So I will be travelling to Bath in March to fulfill one of Carols last wishes by taking part in the
BATH HALF MARATHON raising funds and awareness for CROHNS & COLITIS UK .

First Training since Christmas

Well my new Brooks trainers preformed excellent on first training run since Christmas binge.
lt was what was in the trainers that didn’t feel so great.
So this 51 year old over weight unfit f–ker has got a BIT of work to do IN 2018 but NO PAIN NO GAIN.

Time to get serious

Well Christmas is done for another year.
It is time to get serious as I have got a few things to really focus on .
The first being the Bath Half marathon in March closely followed by the London marathon in April.
So it’s back to pounding the Tarmac around Ringmer in aid of 2 very needy charities.
